Graduate R&D Chemist
Based in Preston, England
An exciting opportunity exists within our Research and Development facility in Preston for a Graduate Research & Development Chemist. The role is to conduct product development work under the guidance and supervision of chemists within the polyurethane development team, undertaking a challenging position in a modern working environment.
Qualified (or due to graduate) to degree level in Chemistry and possessing, or capable of acquiring, a thorough understanding of the design and development of polymers and organic processes. With strong analytical and practical skills you will be responsible for:
• Undertaking comprehensive training in the fields of polyurethane chemistry, pre polymer manufacture, coatings formulation and product testing
• Conducting investigations in response to customer enquiries, manufacturing and quality issues
• Assisting with Quality control and technical field service teams as required to broaden knowledge of technical departments within the organisation
• Recording, presenting and analysing data
Whilst laboratory/scientific experience is advantageous, you will be required to show practical ability, bringing both the enthusiasm to learn and the motivation to deliver. You will possess good communication skills and work well within a team delivering a creative and innovative approach to multi tasking and have a strong desire to succeed.
